Industry 4.0 is Gaining the Attention of Czech and Slovak Manufacturers

PRAGUE, July 27, 2016 -In June 2016, IDC’s Manufacturing Insights team hosted a third interactive conference in Prague, the Czech Republic, entitled Driving Competitiveness in Manufacturing: How to be a part of Industry 4.0. The audience was comprised of 71 delegates from Czech and Slovak manufacturing companies and specialized IT vendors and IT service providers with a strong Industry 4.0 value proposition. Attendees rated the conference at 4.7 out of 5 overall, with more than half expressing interest in attending again next year. We were very pleased with such positive feedback and are aiming to futher improve our Driving Competitiveness in Manufacturing event series in the future, as well as extend it to other CEE countries.

IDC would again like to thank conference sponsors Zebra Technologies, Minerva Czech Republic, IBM, and Autodesk , which helped us deliver excellent content and shared valuable experiences from their implementations of Industry 4.0 initiatives in local companies. A special thanks also belongs to Škoda Auto, GE Aviation, and Sapeli, companies that prepared practical workshops, presenting and discussing their own case studies and Industry 4.0 approaches. We are now about to start preparation for next year’s event, and would like to encourage both end users and sponsors to engage with IDC and discuss how you could contribute to the 2017 event.

Before and during the event, we fielded a short event survey among participants. We collected a total of 24 responses, and would like to share some insights derived from this data.
