Snížení nákladů a komplexity zavádění nových služeb díky propojování různých cloudových a okrajových prostředí v jednom sjednocujícím rámci v reálném čase
PALO ALTO, Kalifornie, 22. června 2021 – Společnosti VMware, Inc. (NYSE:VMW) a Vapor IO oznámily, že budují multicloudovou síť pro poskytování služeb, která spojuje platformy VMware Telco Cloud a Vapor IO Kinetic Grid a umožňuje vývojářům aplikací a poskytovatelům služeb sestavovat síťové služby na vyžádání podle okamžité potřeby. Společný projekt Multi-Cloud Services Grid výrazně zjednoduší a zlevní zavádění distribuovaných 5G systémů a realtimových aplikací tím, že umožní propojit různá cloudová a okrajová prostředí do jednotného rámce, který bude schopný na vyžádání poskytovat prostředky sdílené infrastruktury.
„Dnešní internet je příliš statický, příliš roztříštěný a příliš nepředvídatelný, aby v něm bylo možné nasazovat aplikace citlivé na latenci, například imerzivní hry,“ říká Kaniz Mahdi, viceprezident pro pokročilé technologie společnosti VMware. „Namísto toho potřebujeme síť, která dokáže virtualizovat a libovolně spojovat prostředky v různých cloudech a na různých místech podle okamžitě požadované latence a stability přenosu dat.“
Multi-Cloud Services Grid je první plánovaná implementace systému Open Grid, jak jej koncipovala organizace Open Grid Alliance (OGA), kde aplikace mohou žádat o poskytnutí prostředků ze sítě a spoléhat na to, že síť tyto prostředky zajistí. Hyperkompozice, tj. akt poskytování úzce provázaného souboru prostředků na vyžádání v reálném čase, umožní poskytovat síťové funkce, aplikace a služby ve chvíli, kdy jsou potřeba, přičemž jsou nasazovány autonomně a algoritmicky v síti Open Grid na základě potřeb dané aplikace.
Multi-Cloud Services Grid připraví požadované prostředky přesně v okamžiku, kdy je aplikace potřebuje využít. Pokud například aplikace požaduje nejrychlejší cestu skrze nejméně nákladné prostředky, síť je na základě požadavku sestaví a poté, co je aplikace přestane potřebovat, opět uvolní pro další použití.

Underpinning the Multi-Cloud Services Grid is VMware’s Telco Cloud Platform integration with Vapor IO’s Kinetic Grid platform. The companies plan to deploy the technologies this year in Las Vegas, Atlanta, and Dallas, making the Multi-Cloud Services Grid available as a platform for crowdsourced innovation in those metropolitan areas. The deployed grids will have the ability to serve a growing ecosystem of communications service providers, cloud providers, infrastructure owners, hardware and software developers, municipalities, and enterprises looking to innovate with real-time applications.
