VMware oznamuje finanční výsledky prvního kvartálu fiskálního roku 2020

Výnosy za první čtvrtletí vzrostly meziročně o 13 %

Dodatečných 1,5 milliardy dolarů bylo schváleno k zpětnému odkupu akcií ke konci fiskálního roku 2021

PRAHA / PALO ALTO, Calif.,  10. června, 2019 — Společnost VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), přední inovátor v oblasti podnikového softwaru, na konci května oznámila hospodářské výsledky za první čtvrtletí fiskálního roku 2020:

  • Výnosy v prvním čtvrtletí dosáhly 2,27 miliardy dolarů, což představuje nárůst o 13 % oproti stejnému období fiskálního roku 2019.
  • Výnosy z prodeje licencí v prvním čtvrtletí činily 869 miliónů dolarů, což představuje nárůst o 12 % oproti stejnému období fiskálního roku 2019.
  • Čistý zisk podle GAAP dosáhl v prvním čtvrtletí 505 miliónů dolarů včetně ztráty 132 miliónů dolarů z investice do Pivotal Software, neboli 1,21 USD na akcii, v porovnání s čistou ztátou podle GAAP v hodnotě 942 miliónů USD, neboli 2,29 USD na akcii, v prvním čtvrtletí fiskálního roku 2019. Čistý zisk bez vlivu metodiky GAAP za první kvartál činil 553 miliónů USD, neboli 1,32 USD na akcii, což představuje 5% nárůst na akcii v porovnání s 516 milióny USD, neboli 1,26 USD na akcii za první kvartál fiskálního roku 2019.
  • Provozní zisk podle GAAP za první čtvrtletí byl 415 miliónů USD, což představuje nárůst o 9 % oproti stejnému období fiskálního roku 2019. Provozní zisk za první kvartál bez vlivu metodiky GAAP dosáhl 667 miliónů USD, což představuje nárůst o 12 % oproti stejnému období fiskálního roku 2019.
  • Cash flow z provozní činnosti v prvním čtvrtletí činilo 1,27 miliardy USD. Volný peněžní tok za první byl 1,2 milliardy USD.
  • Celkové výnosy plus sekvenční změny výše výnosů příštích období vzrostly meziročně o 25 %.
  • Výnosy z prodeje licencí plus sekvenční změny výše výnosů příštích období z prodeje licencí vzrostly meziročně o 23 %.

VMware pokračuje plnění plánu  fiskálního roku 2020, včetně celkových tržeb ve výši 10,03 miliardy USD, provozní marže GAAP mezi 21,4 % až 22,8 % a provozní marže bez vlivu metodiky GAAP ve výši 33 %.

Společnost také oznámila, že její představenstvo schválilo zpětný odkup svých kmenových akcií třídy A do výše 1,5 mld. USD v průběhu  fiskálního roku 2021, který končí 29. ledna 2021. Akcie budou odkupovány buď na otevřeném trhu nebo prostřednictvím soukromých transakcí, podle podmínek na trhu. Tato akciová autorizace je doplňkem probíhajícího programu na zpětný odkup akcií ve výši 1 miliardy USD, který byl oznámen v srpnu 2017, a v němž na konci prvního čtvrtletí zbývalo ještě 243 milionů dolarů.

„První čtvrtletí bylo díky silnému postavení našeho rozmanitého produktového portfolia dobrým startem fiskálního roku 2020,“ řekl Pat Gelsinger, výkonný ředitel  VMware. „S potěšením jsme také oznámili řadu dohod s našimi klíčovými partnery z Amazon Web Service, Dell a Microsoftu, jelikož zákaznící stále volí cloudovou infrastrukturu VMwaru k dosažení jejich digitální transformace.“

„Výsledky prvního čtvrtletí svědčí  o neustálém pokroku v rozšiřování široké platformy VMwaru pro hybridní a multicloudová prostředí ,“ řekl Zane Rowe, výkonný viceprezident a finanční ředitel společnosti VMware.  „Držíme se našeho celoročního fiskálního plánu pro rok 2020 a s potěšením oznamujeme, že představenstvo autorizovalo dodatečných 1,5 milliardy dolarů k zpětnému odkupu akcií ke konci fiskálního roku 2021.“

Quarterly Business Highlights & Strategic Announcements

  • VMware and AWS announced an expansion of their partnership, with AWS now able to resell VMware Cloud on AWS. The service is now available in 14 regions globally, including recent availability in the Canada, Mumbai, Paris and Singapore zones.
  • At Dell Technologies World, Dell, Microsoft and VMware announced the following partnership expansions:
    1. Microsoft will deliver a fully native, supported, and certified VMware cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure called Azure VMware Solutions.
    2. VMware Workspace ONE will be able to manage Office 365 across devices via cloud-based integration with Microsoft Intune and Azure Active Directory and the extension of VMware Horizon Cloud  on Azure to include Microsoft Windows Virtual Desktop.
    3. Microsoft and VMware are exploring initiatives to drive further integration between VMware infrastructure and Azure such as integration of VMware NSX with Azure Networking and integration of specific Azure services with VMware management solutions. They will also be exploring bringing specific Azure services to the VMware on-premises customers.
  • VMware introduced VMware Cloud on Dell EMC, which will provide simple, more secure and scalable infrastructure delivered as-a-service to customers’ on-premises data center and edge locations.
  • VMware updated VMware NSX-T Data Center 2.4 and NSX Cloud, expanding capabilities for enterprise customers’, large and small, along with communications service providers’ adoption of Network Function Virtualization (NFV).
  • At the RSA Conference, VMware introduced the VMware Service-defined Firewall, an innovative approach to internal firewalling that reduces the attack surface for on-premises and cloud environments with security that is an intrinsic part of the infrastructure.
  • VMware Essential PKS and Enterprise PKS 1.4 was made generally available. PKS streamlines DevOps workflows and takes advantage of new networking, security, and automation features designed for Kubernetes (K8s) at scale.
  • New advancements were made across the VMware vRealize cloud management platform helping IT enable developers and IT admins to quickly build and deliver applications in hybrid cloud environments with more secure and consistent operations.
  • VMware acquired Bitnami, a leader in application packaging solutions providing the largest catalog of click-to-deploy applications and development stacks for major cloud and Kubernetes environments. VMware also completed the acquisition of AetherPal, a provider of remote support solutions that enable IT to remotely view, control, troubleshoot, and fix devices and applications in the field.
  • At its Partner Leadership Summit, VMware unveiled VMware Partner Connect, a new, dramatically simplified and flexible program that will go live early next year. The new partner program will enable partners to do business with VMware in a way that aligns to their business models.
