For the third consecutive year, the PC market posted double-digit volume contraction, with shipments down to 13.7 million units, representing a 26.2% decline year on year.

PRAGUE / LONDON, March 17, 2016 – According to a new International Data Corporation (IDC) Western Europe Quarterly Tablet Tracker forecast, demand for detachable tablets will drive the overall European PC and tablet device market over the coming years. By 2018, detachables and slate tablets will account for 51% of total shipments (up from 45% in 2015), as demand for traditional PCs continues to slowly decline due to market maturity and migration to more mobile form factors. Western European HCP Market, 4Q15: 2015 Finishes With an Overall Disappointing Quarter

PRAGUE / LONDON, February 18, 2016 — According to research by International Data Corporation (IDC), the Western European printer and multifunction (MFP) market decreased 4.9% in unit terms compared with the same period a year ago, with negative performances in both inkjet and laser segments. This gave a 4Q15 market figure of 6.5 million units — a decline of 333K units, largely due to the contraction in consumer printing. Revenues increased by 1%, but lasers were largely responsible for the value increase as inkjet revenues fell by 14.3%. (TZ)
