CEE External Storage Market Recovers in Q2 2014 in Spite of Slump in the Midrange Segment

Prague, October 3, 2014 – Delayed large projects in Russia and revived activity of the SMB segment across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) pushed external storage market value up 8.2% year on year to $244.38 million in the second quarter of 2014. The corresponding capacity soared, with growth of almost 50% to reach 212.5PB. These results can be found in the Q2 2014 Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Disk Storage Systems Quarterly Tracker, recently published by global market research firm IDC. (TZ)

IDC: Czech Server Market Stagnation Defies Economic Growth

Prague, September 10,2014 ­– In Q2 2014, the x86 server market in the Czech Republic declined for the fourth consecutive quarter in volume terms. The Czech economy grew in the last three quarters (almost 3% in Q1 and Q2), and although the local server market could be expected to perform in accordance with the economy as a whole, it did not – which was predicted in IDC’s Server Forecast.

Prague, September 2, 2014 ─ The server market in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) remained on a downward trajectory in the second quarter of 2014, shrinking in value by 10.0% year on year to $349.95 million. According to market research and advisory company IDC, shipments totaled 72,728 units, representing an 8.2% volume decrease from the same period in 2013.
